Gaithersburg — (Autoscribe Corporation)—June 29, 2010 — Autoscribe Corporation is pleased to announce that its corporate headquarters at One Washingtonian Center has been awarded the LEED Platinum certification by the USGBC (http://www.usgbc.org) for energy efficiency, green building design and construction, operations, and energy conservation. This is an enormous accomplishment, as this is the highest level of certification that the USGBC offers and is a highly sought out certification for Class A facilities.

LEED-certified buildings are designed to:

  • Conserve energy and water.
  • Be healthier and safer for occupants.
  • Reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Lower operating costs and increase asset value.
  • Reduce waste sent to landfills.

LEED addresses exterior building site maintenance programs, efficient/optimized use of water and energy, purchasing of environmentally preferred products, waste stream management and ongoing indoor environmental quality (IEQ). In addition, LEED for Existing Buildings provides sustainable guidelines for whole-building cleaning/maintenance, recycling programs and systems upgrades to improve building energy, water, IEQ and materials use.

LEED is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
